GLW GEORGIA LAND WORKS

Service

Land grading and site prep

Shaping ground so water goes where you want it and the next trade can start.

Yard graded to fresh red clay with track marks, north Georgia

What the work is

  • Cutting and filling to a planned shape rather than just smoothing what is there.
  • Building fall away from structures so water does not sit against a foundation.
  • Compacting where something is going to be built or driven on.

When it is the right call

  • Building pads before the slab.
  • Driveways and turnarounds.
  • Pasture and paddock.
  • Yards that hold water after every storm.

When it is not

  • Engineered retaining structures. That wants a designer and a permit.
  • Fine landscape finish grading on a small lot, where hand work is cheaper.

Questions we get

Do I need a permit?

Sometimes. County rules vary and disturbed area is usually the trigger. We will tell you what we know and point you at the county office.

Can you fix a wet yard?

Often, yes. Sometimes the answer is grading, sometimes a drain or a dry creek bed, and sometimes the water is coming from off your property. We will say which.

Tell us what the ground needs to do.

Walkthroughs are free and we will tell you honestly if the job needs a different contractor.
